OUR FAVORITE HAMBURGER CASSEROLE 
1 lb. hamburger
1 c. potatoes, diced
1/2 c. carrots, diced
1/4 c. minced onion
1/4 lb. cheese or more if desired
1/2 c. macaroni
1 1/2 to 2 c. tomato juice
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. onion salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Fry hamburger until lightly browned. Add one cup water and simmer slowly for about 15 minutes. Drain off broth and let cool. Place meat in a baking dish. Remove fat from broth and return the broth to the meat. Cook macaroni until tender; drain. Cook potatoes, carrots and onions until almost tender. Add the vegetables, tomato juice, cheese and seasonings to the meat. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
