CAKE:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 beaten egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

SAUCE: (It is wonderful.)
1/4 c. melted butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cream
1/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugar and butter. Add all other ingredients and mix. Add 2 cups finely chopped apples and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Bake in 9"x9" pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

SAUCE: Bring all ingredients except vanilla to a boil. Then add vanilla. Serve over cake with whipped cream and nuts.
