COWBOY BEAN CASSEROLE 
1 lb. pink beans
Bacon fat or ham pieces
1 c. onion, chopped
1 garlic pod
2 lbs. ground beef
2 sm. cans tomato sauce
Salt, pepper & chili powder to taste
1/4 c. barbecue sauce

Soak beans in cold water overnight. Drain and add fresh water; boil until tender with bacon or ham. Pour off excess water and set aside. Brown hamburger and onion and drain off fat. Add beans, tomato sauce, 2 cans water and seasoning. Simmer 1 hour, then add barbecue sauce. Serves a large crowd.
