FIG CAKE 
1 c. cooking oil
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sour cream or buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 qt. fig preserves
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla, and sour cream or buttermilk. Sift flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Blend sugar mixture and dry ingredients thoroughly. Add figs and pecans. Bake at 350 degrees in greased and floured tube pan for one hour or until tester comes out clean.
