OATMEAL FIG CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3 eggs
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
2 1/4 c. 3-minute quick oats
1 tsp. vinegar
1 1/2 c. fig preserves

Mix ingredients in order given; blend well. Pour into a greased and floured 10- inch tube or Bundt pan.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Ice with desired icing.

This recipe tastes great. However, I used fig marmalade and the stickiness did me in. The cake stuck to the pan, so I lost the top half. Not inedible, just a real eyesore. We served it in a bread pudding style, so the lack of appearance didn't bother much.
