RHUBARB NUT BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. brown sugar 2/3 c. liquid shortening 1 egg 1 c. sour milk 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. diced rhubarb 1/2 c. nuts Pour above ingredients into 2 well greased and floured loaf pans. TOPPING: Cream together 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes. To make sour milk add 1 tablespoon vinegar. |
