HEARTY MEAT CASSEROLE 
1 lb. lean round steak
1/4 c. flour, seasoned with salt, pepper & garlic powder
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. beef broth (or water)
1 can mushrooms, sliced & liquid
1 pkg. frozen or canned peas or green beans
1/2 c. sour cream
Cooked noodles or rice

Pound seasoned flour into meat and cut into thin strips. Brown meat on all sides. Add onions, broth and liquid from mushrooms. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Add 1 can mushroom soup and the canned mushrooms, also peas or beans. Cover and cook about 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Heat but don't boil. Serve over hot noodles or mashed potatoes. Serves 6.
