APPLE STRUDEL 
DOUGH:

2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tbsp. lard (Crisco)
Dash of salt
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. butter

FILLING:

1/2 c. bread crumbs
4 tbsp. butter
5 sour apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. raisins
Cinnamon (opt.)

Mix flour with eggs, lard, salt and water. Knead until firm. Let it stand for 30 minutes. Roll out very thinly and brush with melted butter. On the side prepare the filling. Brown the crumbs in butter. Cool. Peel and slice apples. Sprinkle them over the dough. Drop the raisins evenly over the crumbs. Cover with evenly spread apples. Add sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and place on a greased baking dish. Brush with egg yolk or butter and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar. Serve hot or cold.
