1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. apples, pared and finely cut
1 c. whole bran cereal

Sift the dry ingredients. Blend butter and sugar and add eggs. Blend well and then stir in apples, cereal, and dry ingredients. Spread in well greased 13 x 9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. Top with your favorite frosting.
