"GRANNY'S" APPLE LOAF CAKE 
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. peeled and chopped California Granny Smith apples
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c. raisins or chopped dates (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Stir in the California Granny Smith apples, nuts and raisins or dates, if used. Add vanilla extract. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 45 minutes or until tests done.
