FUDGE NUT BARS
1 c. butter
2 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2.5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick-cooking rolled oats

FILLING:

1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and brown sugar. Mix in two eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to butter mixture along with rolled oats. Stir and mix thoroughly. Set aside.

In a saucepan over gently boiling water, mix together chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir until chocolate pieces are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in nuts and vanilla.

Spread about 2/3 of dough in bottom of jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1 inch). Cover dough with filling, dot with remaining dough. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until lightly browned. Cut into small bars. Makes about 6 dozen.
