SWISS RYE SQUARES 
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded fine
1 sm. onion grated or 4 green onions sliced with tops included
Mayonnaise to bind together
1 loaf cocktail rye bread, sliced

Mix cheese and onion together with enough mayonnaise to bind together. Spread on each slice of rye bread. Place on baking sheet or broiler rack and broil about 3 to 4 minutes.

Serve at once. May be made ahead to broiling stage. Freeze on cookie sheets and stack in freezer containers. Can take from freezer and pop into broiler. Allow more time if frozen.
