VEGGIE SOUP 
4-5 short ribs
4 med. potatoes, cubed
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. rice and barley
2 med. carrots, sliced
1 lg. onion, diced
1/4 tsp. garlic

IN large 8 cups of water, boil onions and ribs for 30 minutes, then lower heat to simmer. Add barley, rice, carrots, celery, potatoes, salt, and garlic. Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until meat is tender.
