(WATERMELON) CUCUMBER PICKLES 
7 lb. cucumbers
3 c. lime to 2 gallons of water
2 qt. white vinegar
1 tbsp. pickling salt
4 lb. sugar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. pickling spice
1 tbsp. whole cloves

Peel cucumbers, remove seeds and cut in sticks. Soak 24 hours in lime and water. Wash 4 times in clear water and drain. Mix remaining ingredients, tying celery seed, pickling spice, and cloves in a cloth bag.

Soak cucumbers overnight in this mixture.

Boil 25-35 minutes. They get a sort of transparent look. Seal in hot sterilized jars. Add a bit of green color if you like.
