CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
4 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
1 pt. sour cream
1 lg. bag chips
3 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter with sugar and add vanilla. Add 1 egg at a time and beat well after each egg. In separate bowl mix flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternating with sour cream. Mix thoroughly after each flour or cream addition. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into well greased cake pans (2) or tube pan.

For baking in tube pan, bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours. For baking in cake pans, bake for 1 hour.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. Hershey cocoa
2 2/3 c. XXXX or XXXXX sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Double recipe for the 2 pan cake.
