PUMPKIN BREAD 
2 c. pumpkin
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 1/2 c. flour
4 eggs
1 c. oil
2/3 c. water
1 c. walnuts
1 c. dates

Sift all dry ingredients together. Slightly beat eggs, and oil and mix well, adding sugar. Add dry ingredients alternately with water. Fold in nuts and raisins or currants or dates last. If glass pans are used, temperature should be 25° lower.

Bake at 300 to 350°F for 45 minutes.

Yield: 3 loaf pans.
