HOT GREEN TOMATOES 
9 c. water
4 c. cider vinegar (5%)
3/4 c. salt
1 tbsp. alum
Garlic buds
Hot peppers to taste (about 1 c.)
About 20 (quartered) green tomatoes

Mix all in a large pot and bring to a boil. Put at least 1 garlic bud and pepper to each jar. Put tomatoes and juice in jar. Seal.
