RED DEVIL CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter

Add:

2 beaten eggs

Blend in:

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

Sift together:

2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Add:

3/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Add alternately with creamed mixture. Add 1/3 cup boiling water. Mix well. Turn into 9 x 12 inch or 2 (8 inch) layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Better to under bake slightly than over bake.
