EASY BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
5 tbsp. flour or 3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp. butter
1 baked pie shell

Combine sugar, salt and flour; blend in egg yolks and milk. Cook until thick. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into pie shell.

MERINGUE FOR PIE:

Beat the 2 egg whites until stiff with 1 teaspoon cream of tartar. Slowly add 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat just a little longer. Put meringue on top of pie. Bake at 350 degrees until meringue is brown.
