NIGHT BEFORE FRENCH TOAST 
1 (10 oz.) long, thin loaf French bread
8 lg. eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
butter
Cinnamon

Grease 13 x 9-inch pan. Cut bread in 1-inch pieces and layer in pan. In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Mix thoroughly and pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

To bake: Uncover and dot each slice with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until puffy and browned. Let stand 5 minutes.
