GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1 block German chocolate 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 5 eggs 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1 c. broken nuts (any kind) Heat butter and chocolate slowly. Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add baking powder, milk and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients. Grease and flour a funnel cake pan, pour in the cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let set for 15 minutes. ICING: 1 c. milk (evaporated) 1 c. sugar 3 egg yolks 1/4 lb. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, about 12 minutes. Add 1 1/3 cups Angel Flake coconut, beat until thick enough to spread. |
