2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. molasses
1 egg
1 c. applesauce
3/4 c. raisins

Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Cut in butter. Add molasses, egg and applesauce. Beat well and stir in raisins. Bake in dutch oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or bake in layer pans at 350 degrees. Turn out and sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar.
