DISAPPEARING CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. water
1/2 c. shortening

2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour 16 x 11 x 1 1/2 cake pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put butter, water, shortening and cocoa in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; do not cool. Dump into flour the salt and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. In second bowl, mix eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Add to first mixture, mixing well. Pour into cake pan (cookie sheet pan) and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

During last 5 minutes, make icing. Heat but do not boil. Pour over cake hot from oven.
