LATTICE PASTRIES 
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cans fruit filling
1/2 c. butter
1 c. vegetable shortening
2 lightly beaten eggs
3/4 c. milk

Combine and mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter and vegetable shortening as for pie dough. Mix in eggs and milk. divide dough in two. Roll one piece out on floured surface and line a greased 10 x 15 inch pan. Add filling. With remaining dough make lattice topping or roll out as one piece and cover filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. As an option you can pour glaze over the top when still warm.
