PERFECT APPLE PIE 
6-7 tart apples
3/4-1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Dash salt
Pastry for a 2 crust 9" pie
2 tbsp. butter

Pare apples and slice thin. Combine sugar, flour, spice and salt. Mix with apples. Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust; sprinkle with sugar for sparkle. Pierce top a few times to vent. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 50 minutes or until done. Save time by using #2 can (5 cups) sliced pie apples, drained.
