SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 3 c. sugar 6 eggs 3 c. cake flour (do not sift) 1/2 pt. sour cream 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla extract Cream butter. Add sugar slowly and cream well. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well. Mix soda with sour cream. Add half flour and sour cream alternately to egg mixture. Add flavoring and salt. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, if oven is slow, bake another 15 minutes. Cake in done when well browned and seams to be from sides of pan. Let set 10 minutes before removing from pan. |
