SOUTHERN STEWED OKRA 
1 c. sliced fresh okra
1 med. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. vegetable oil
3 tomatoes, peeled and quartered
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Cook okra in boiling salted water 10 minutes; drain well and set aside. Saute onion and green pepper in oil. Add tomatoes; cook over medium heat 5 minutes. Stir in okra, sugar, flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat 5 to 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Makes 4 servings.
