FROSTED CREAMS CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. cold strong coffee
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
Pinch of salt

Cream sugar and shortening. Add molasses, eggs, and coffee. Add dry ingredients and beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes (9 x 13 inch pan). Frost when cool.

FROSTING:

1 lb. powdered sugar
1/4 c. cold strong coffee
1/3 c. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix ingredients until smooth and creamy. If frosting is too thick, add a little milk.
