FROSTED CREAM BARS 
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 c. molasses
1 c. hot water with 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in it
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. flour
Pinch of allspice or nutmeg may be added

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add molasses, water, soda, spices, vanilla and flour. Bake in jelly roll pan at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until done. Frost with a powdered sugar frosting.

Will have to try these. My grandmother used to make these and of course her recipe didn't have any measurements for the flour. Is this a dense bar cookie that improves with age? Also for the icing is put on right out of the oven or after cooled. The icing on my grandma's was a thin almost transparent icing that was hard.
