DANISH KRINGLE | |
2 c. flour 2 sticks butter 1 c. sour cream Cut butter into flour as for a pie crust. Blend well. Mix in sour cream. Chill dough for an hour or two. Divide dough into three pieces, and roll each into large rectangle. Down the middle of each piece, spread 1/3 can of apple pie filling. Fold sides over the middle and crimp ends. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce oven to 350 degrees and bake another 35 minutes or until brown. Frost with powdered sugar icing; sprinkle with chopped nuts, and decorate with cherry halves. NOTE: After rolling out the dough, lift it with the rolling pin to the cookie sheet before filling. All three will fit on a good sized cookie sheet. |
