FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. butter
10 eggs
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 lbs. fruit mix
1 lb. light raisins
1 lb. dark raisins
1 lb. currants
1 lb. walnuts
1 jar red maraschino cherries
1 jar green maraschino cherries

Beat eggs. Add powdered sugar and beat well. Add egg mixture to beaten butter. Add flour, cinnamon, vanilla, cream of tartar. Mix well. Add the rest of ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Grease loaf pans and line with foil. Fill pans with batter. Place pan of water in oven on bottom shelf. Set oven for 250. Bake cakes for 2 1/2 hours. Yields 12 pounds of cake. This recipe can be cut in half.
