CHERRY SLICES 
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lg. can cherry pie filling

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each egg. Add vanilla and almond extract. Sift in dry ingredients. Spread in a greased 10x15 inch pan reserving about 1 cup batter. Spread cherry pie mix to within 1/2 inch of edge of pan. Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls over cherry mix. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees.

When cool, drizzle with powdered sugar frosting or sprinkle with powdered sugar.

FROSTING:

3/4 c. powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 tsp. almond extract
