SOURDOUGH BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sourdough starter

Combine flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add starter. Stir until dough clings together. Knead on a lightly floured surface 10-12 times. Roll out or pat to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds.

Place in an ungreased 9 x 1 1/2 inch round baking pan. Let rest 10 minutes. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 12 minutes. Makes 10 biscuits.
