DOUGHNUTS 
6 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 eggs
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. melted shortening or oil

Sift all dry ingredients together. Beat sugar and eggs. Add shortening. Add all to dry ingredients; blend well. Then turn dough onto floured board. Knead 5 or 6 times. Roll to 1/3 inch thickness. Let stand 20 minutes to rise. Cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in deep oil, 370-380 degrees.
