BLONDE BROWNIES 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Melt butter; add sugar, then egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and stir in. Add vanilla. Spread into well greased 8 x 9 inch pan. Bake on middle rack of oven at 350 degrees for about 30 to 35 minutes. Recipe may be doubled for larger batch. Use 13 x 9 inch pan for double batch. Self-rising flour may be substituted. Leave our baking powder and salt.
