BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 3/4 c. rolled oats
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2-3 med.)
1/2 c. chopped nuts or raisins

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Measure flour by sifting. Place all ingredients in mixing bowl. Beat until well blended. Drop rounded teaspoon of dough about 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Yield: 4 dozen cookies.
