CHOCOLATE FRUIT COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
3 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. sour milk
4 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
4 squares baking chocolate, softened

3/4 cup milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar.

Cream together: shortening, brown sugar and eggs until well blended. Then add flour, milk, baking soda and salt. Add chocolate and two cups of mixed candied fruit. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
