CRISPY OAT TREATS 
1 c. butter (no low calorie or whipped butter)
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. old fashion rolled oats, uncooked
1 c. granola type cereal
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

In a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and brown sugar, beating well. Add egg, beat well. Add oil and vanilla, mix well. Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to butter mixture and blend well. Stir in oats, cereal, coconut and nuts. Shape into 1 inch balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes approximately 10 dozen.
