GRANDMA'S SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. butter or shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar; beat well and add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and combine. Chill dough several hours or overnight. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Roll dough to size of walnuts and coat in sugar and cinnamon before baking 10 minutes at 400 degrees on well greased cookie sheet. Do not overbake. Cookies will puff up and fall after cooling.

Have used this recipe for 30 years.
