GIANT SNICKERDOODLES | |
1 c. butter 1 1/2 c. & 2 tbsp. sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, unsifted 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. cinnamon In large bowl cream butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture until well blended. Refrigerate dough 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a flat, open bowl. Shape dough into 2 inch balls and roll in cinnamon mixture. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes. Makes 2 dozen cookies, about 180 calories each. To freeze: Wrap well, label and date. Freeze up to 3 months. |
