SWEET PICKLES 
7 or 8 lbs. fresh cucumbers cut in 1/4 inch
2 gallons cool water
2 c. lime

Stir well and pour over cucumbers and let stand 24 hours. Stir several times during this period to mix lime then wash 3 or 4 times in cool water until water looks clear then soak 3 hours in clear water. Now they are ready for the vinegar.

Mix 2 quarts cider vinegar, 10 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon each celery seed, whole cloves and mixed pickle spices. Let soak over high heat to boiling and simmer 35 minutes or longer until they change color.

Can add green food coloring if desired. Put in jars and seal.
