FRESH FRUIT TRAY AND DIP | |
1 pt. all-purpose whipping cream 8 tbsp. sugar 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple in its own juice 1 egg 2 tbsp. flour On stove, heat pineapple with juice and 1 beaten egg, with 4 tablespoons sugar and 3 tablespoons flour. Cook over low heat until thick (3 to 5 minutes - must be like custard) stirring constantly. Let cool completely! Whip cream with 4 tablespoons sugar until peaks. Add pineapple mix with spoon when cool. Serve chilled in the center of a fruit tray using: 2 red apples 2 green apples 1 1/2 lb. strawberries, hulled 2 lg. cans pineapple chunks 2 lb. grapes, red or green 1 med. cantaloupe, cut into chunks or into balls NOTE: Slice apples and soak in pineapple juice to keep from getting brown. Substitute any type of fruit! |
