BOILED OKRA 
1 qt. tender okra with 1/2 inch stems
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. bacon drippings
Salt

Place the okra in a pan with cold water to just cover. Bring to a boil and add the vinegar. Do not stir okra while cooking. Boil until fork tender. Add the drippings and salt to taste. Lift okra from pan carefully to serve.

Very good, not slimey (though I like slimey). I used unsalted butter, needs pepper or another seasoning with the salt.
