BEST EVER MEATLOAF
4 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. finely chopped onions
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
1/2 c. finely chopped bell pepper
2 tbsp. Season All or other type season mix
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. catsup
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. bread crumbs

Melt butter in 1 quart saucepan. Add next 6 ingredients. Sauté until mixture starts sticking, about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally and scraping the bottom well. Stir in milk and catsup. Cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Mix ground beef, ground pork, vegetable mixture, beaten eggs and bread crumbs. Mix by hand until thoroughly combined. Shape mixture into loaf and place in a 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake, uncovered at 350°F for 25 minutes, then raise temperature to 400°F and continue cooking until done, about 40 minutes longer.

Serves 6.

So moist and flavorful. I used 1 # ground sirloin and 1# mixture of pork and veal. Used 1 tsp seasoned salt and 1/2 tsp regular salt in place of Season All. Topped with ketchup. My best meatloaf .

I've been trying to find a flavorful meatloaf and this one is the best I've had. I think the key is cooking the vegetables first and adding the evaporated milk it intensifies all the flavors. I would give this 10 stars if I could.

I like to add 4 sticks of butter and dice a lb. of raw bacon into the blend. Bake at 425°F for one hour until crisp. Makes for an excellent breakfast side dish also.

Made this for dinner last night and it was amazing! Only alteration I made was to coat the top with a merlot wine glaze about 5 minutes before it was done. Fantastic!

Loved it!! Left out the bell pepper and reversed the quantities on the meat. Drizzled my favorite bbq sauce over the top about 7 minutes before taking it out of the oven. Very moist with an excellent flavor. I have never liked meatloaf until this recipe. Huge fan.

I made this meatloaf last night. My family and I agree it is the best meatloaf I've ever made! My only suggestion is to reduce the butter to 2 tablespoons to reduce the fat.

Excellent receipe, this one is a keeper!

This was a great recipe. My family loved it and its our go to meatloaf recipe. I used 2 tablespoons of steak dust for the seasoning. Also, I used 2 pounds of ground beef and regular milk instead of what was in the recipe (it was all I had at the time). Highly recommended.

If using a salt based seasoning, reduce to 1 tbsp. or use a non-salt based seasoning.
