CREAM CHEESE SQUARES 
1 c. flour
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/3 c. butter

Blend flour, sugar and walnuts. Add butter, making a crumb mixture. Reserve 1 cup. Pat remaining crumb mixture into a greased and floured 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool.

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat together in order given until smooth. Pour this mixture over cooled, baked crust. Sprinkle the 1 cup of reserved crumbs over top of filling. Return to oven and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool before cutting into squares. Yield: Approximately 25 squares 1 1/4 inches.
