MISSIONARY JELLO OR APPLESAUCE
CINNAMON MOLD
 
6 oz. red gelatin or 2 sm. (3 oz.) pkg.
1 tbsp. unflavored gelatin
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
2 tbsp. lemon juice or 1 tsp. lemon extract
1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
2 tbsp. powdered sugar

Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup water. Let thicken. Add flavored gelatin and stir with boiling water. Add about 1/4 cup applesauce to gelatin, to make room in the can. Stir cinnamon into the applesauce in the can. This way, the cinnamon will not "float" to the top. Add applesauce to the Jello, adding lemon juice and 2 cups of cold water. Stir. Pour mixture into a 1 1/2 quart glass bowl or a 1 1/2 quart ring mold. Set in refrigerator and stir again about 35 minutes later. Let set until firm.
