DRESSING FOR APPLE SALAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water or pineapple juice
Butter (the size of a walnut)
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 egg, beaten well

Mix and boil until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Add apples, celery, grapes, marshmallows, pineapple tidbits and nuts (if desired).
