MASHED POTATO BUNS | |
1 cake yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 1 c. milk 1/2 c. mashed potatoes 1/2 c. shortening 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg, creamed 2 c. sifted flour Dissolve cake yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in 1 cup milk, scalded and cooled. Add mashed potatoes and 2 cups sifted flour. Stir and let rise 1/2 hour. Mix sugar, shortening and egg and add to first mixture. Then add 2 more cups flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cover and let rise until double in size. Form in buns, put in greased pans and let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake 20 minutes in medium oven or until brown on top. |
