PICKLED PEARS OR PEACHES 
1 c. water
1 c. vinegar
3 c. sugar
Bag of spice (mixed pickling, 1-2 tbsp.)
1/2 stick cinnamon for each qt.
1 clove for each half of fruit

Boil fruit in water, vinegar, sugar and spice mixtures. Put 1/2 stick cinnamon in each quart jar. Place clove in each 1/2 piece of fruit. Pack in jars. Pour syrup over fruit and seal jars.
