PETER'S POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add flavorings. Don't over beat. Bake about 1 hour and 25 minutes at 325 degrees in a bundt or tube pan.

This is delicious alone, with a glaze, or with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
